Puttshack partners with TipHaus to enhance tip management efficiency across its 20 locations.

Puttshack has partnered with TipHaus to automate tip management across its 20 U.S. locations, significantly reducing errors and time spent on payroll processes. The integration allows for automated tip calculations from sales data collected through Toast, streamlining operations and enhancing transparency for employees. This partnership aligns with Puttshack's goals of improving hospitality and operational efficiency as the brand continues to expand.
This partnership may enhance unit economics by reducing administrative burdens on managers, allowing them to focus on customer experience. Additionally, it indicates a move towards more efficient operational tools, which could be significant for other multi-unit operators in similar sectors.
Puttshack, a tech-driven mini golf and entertainment brand with 20 locations across the U.S., has partnered with TipHaus to enhance its tip management system. This move addresses common challenges faced by multi-location hospitality operators, such as inconsistent tip handling, manual reconciliation, and limited visibility for management and employees. TipHaus centralizes the tip management process, automating calculations and providing Puttshack with a uniform system across all venues.
Ryan Nowicki, Chief Operating Officer at Puttshack, emphasized the operational benefits of this partnership, stating, “As restaurants continue to embrace technology that improves both the employee and guest experience, TipHaus has proven to be a valuable operational tool for Puttshack.” He noted that the solution has reduced errors by 90%, streamlined tip management, and enhanced transparency for team members, enabling managers to concentrate on developing their teams and delivering exceptional service.
Puttshack's existing point-of-sale operations utilize Toast, which integrates seamlessly with TipHaus. This integration facilitates the automatic transfer of sales and shift data, allowing real-time tip calculation and minimizing the need for manual data entry. Employees can also monitor their tip earnings through the TipHaus Employee App, promoting direct insight and clarity into their compensation.
Tom Fraser, Operations Systems Administrator at Puttshack, highlighted the time-saving aspect of the partnership: “TipHaus has streamlined everything we do with payroll. We’re saving around 8 hours a week per venue and close to 640 hours a month across all our locations.”
Kirk Grogan, COO and Co-Founder at TipHaus, remarked, “Puttshack is a great example of a growing, multi-location brand that needed one consistent system for tip management rather than a patchwork of manual processes.” He underscored the importance of automation in building team trust and allowing managers to prioritize hospitality over administrative tasks.
As Puttshack continues to scale, its collaboration with TipHaus is expected to support effective tip management and accurate reporting, creating a streamlined approach that benefits both management and employees. Moving forward, the impact of this automation on operational efficiency may influence similar adaptations in other hospitality franchises.
