This leadership change may enhance Hyatt's competitive positioning in the all-inclusive hospitality market and could drive improvements in unit economics through better commercial strategy and performance.
Eduardo Schutte has been appointed as Senior Vice President of Commercial for Hyatt's Inclusive Collection, effective July 27, 2026. Schutte, who comes with over 30 years of experience in hospitality, travel technology, and distribution, will play a crucial role in enhancing the commercial strategy for this segment. He reports to Javier Águila, President of the Inclusive Collection, and will collaborate closely with Hyatt’s Chief Commercial Officer, Mark Vondrasek.
His strategic focus will encompass sales, revenue management, brand marketing, and distribution, aiming to bolster commercial performance and reinforce Hyatt’s leadership in the leisure and all-inclusive sectors. Águila noted, “Eduardo brings a rare combination of hospitality operating depth, sophisticated distribution expertise and enterprise-scale commercial leadership, all of which will be invaluable as we continue to grow and strengthen Hyatt's Inclusive Collection.” This suggests a significant emphasis on developing Hyatt’s commercial capabilities in alignment with its growth ambitions.
Prior to this role, Schutte served as Chief Commercial Officer at Cross Border Xpress and held leadership positions at reputable organizations including Grupo Posadas, TravelClick, LXR Luxury Resorts & Hotels, Hilton, and Amadeus. His extensive background in sales, marketing, revenue management, and distribution across diverse markets, including the Americas, is expected to contribute to an advanced commercial organization within Hyatt’s Inclusive Collection.
Hyatt’s Inclusive Collection currently manages more than 150 all-inclusive resorts with nearly 58,000 rooms across Latin America, the Caribbean, and Europe. Schutte’s appointment signals a likely strategic shift towards bolstering Hyatt’s competitive edge and operational efficiency in this expanding segment. The emphasis on enhancing commercial excellence may prove essential for Hyatt as it seeks to elevate its position in the all-inclusive market. The franchise landscape should watch closely as Hyatt implements this strategy, particularly in how quickly the new initiatives gain traction and impact overall performance.
