Skiptown enhances SkipOS platform to improve pet care services and operational efficiency.

Skiptown has unveiled upgrades to its proprietary SkipOS platform, which connects its services and enhances operational efficiency across multiple markets. The platform now includes features that improve customer experience and streamline processes for franchisees managing dog daycare, boarding, and grooming services.
The enhancements to SkipOS may directly impact the unit economics for franchisees by driving operational efficiency and improving customer retention, allowing for better decision-making based on real-time data.
Skiptown has released upgrades to its proprietary platform, SkipOS, which aims to enhance the pet care experience while improving operational efficiency and profitability for franchisees. The company, headquartered in Charlotte, N.C., has developed SkipOS to integrate all aspects of its five service lines, which include daycare, boarding, grooming, and dog walking. The upgraded platform features a valet-style drop-off and pickup service, allowing pet owners to check in and out via the Skiptown app without leaving their vehicles, an enhancement based on user feedback. Currently, this feature has been refined to ensure that 95% of drop-offs and pickups are completed in under eight minutes while also including comprehensive wellness checks for pets.
Further enhancements in 2026 introduced the PupCare Plan membership, an SMS Text Club for events, and an in-app engagement hub, all aimed at increasing customer interaction and cross-service utilization. Liz Sims, Head of Digital Product at Skiptown, stated, “SkipOS was intentionally designed with both pet parents and operators in mind... Owning the technology allows us to respond quickly to customer feedback.” This platform has evolved from a simple dog walking app to a multi-location operating system as the brand has expanded into markets like Denver and Atlanta.
SkipOS focuses on four key areas: driving revenue and profitability through real-time performance insights; enhancing operational efficiency by simplifying workflows for staff; enabling data-driven decision-making for franchisees regarding pricing and service offerings; and improving the overall customer experience by providing a seamless journey from booking to service delivery.
As Skiptown continues to innovate and adapt its technology, franchise operators may need to assess how these enhancements influence their local business dynamics and customer engagement strategies moving forward. The ongoing development of SkipOS suggests that franchisees should remain attentive to new features that can impact their service delivery and operational success.
