Wingstop's new loyalty program aims for experiential engagement beyond traditional discounts.

Wingstop has launched its Club Wingstop loyalty program, moving towards an experience-led model rather than just discounts. The program includes a limited edition ‘Club in a Box’ curated by Maura Higgins, featuring various exclusive items, and aims to enhance customer interaction through unique experiences and perks. This initiative is part of Wingstop's strategy to drive sustained growth according to CEO Michael Skipworth.
This new loyalty approach may enhance unit economics by fostering customer loyalty and engagement, leading to repeat visits. It also suggests a shift in franchisee strategies regarding marketing and customer retention in a competitive sector.
Wingstop has launched its new loyalty program, Club Wingstop, aiming to transition from traditional discount incentives to a more experience-driven engagement model. This initiative features a partnership with reality TV star Maura Higgins, who has curated an exclusive offering known as “Club in a Box.” This box, priced at 94 cents to honor Wingstop’s 1994 opening, will include items inspired by Higgins such as a green beret, a bag scarf, a JBL Bluetooth speaker, a Polaroid camera, and a gift card. The offer will be available starting June 1 at 7 a.m. CT, but in limited quantities.
Higgins emphasized the power of loyalty, noting, “There’s always a club everyone wants to get into, and now it’s Club Wingstop. What I love about Club Wingstop is that it goes all in for the fans who go all in for Wingstop."
This loyalty program reflects Wingstop’s commitment to digital marketing and aims to foster a sense of community among its most dedicated customers by providing insider perks, early access to new products, and opportunities for members-only events. Donnie Upshaw, Wingstop's Chief Brand Officer, asserted that Club Wingstop is designed to reward dedicated fans with unique cultural experiences, stating, “This is bigger than points and perks. We’re building a community where our most loyal fans get access to cultural experiences only Wingstop can deliver.”
Future expansions of the program will offer exclusive access to events like WWE SummerSlam and NBA games, as well as unique experiences at Wingstop’s House of Flavor, which will include secret entry, exclusive flavors, custom merchandise, and more.
CEO Michael Skipworth highlighted Club Wingstop as a key growth strategy during the chain’s Q1 earnings call, explaining that it’s structured to place members at the forefront. He noted, “Given our most engaged guests, access, experiences and benefits that go beyond points and discounts" will differentiate this loyalty platform.
The success of this new experience-led loyalty initiative may depend on how well it resonates with customers seeking more than mere discounts and how quickly Wingstop can integrate these offerings into their broader marketing strategy.
