QSR industry leaders gather to explore AI's potential in a new initiative for practical application.

The QSR Evolution Conference will launch QSR AI Connect, an initiative designed to help restaurant executives navigate AI's impact on their businesses. The inaugural workshop will take place on September 8, focusing on integrating AI into key areas such as marketing, operations, and guest experience.
This initiative suggests a shift in how franchisees can think about technology adoption, potentially enhancing unit economics and operational efficiency as AI becomes more integrated into restaurant operations.
The QSR Evolution Conference, organized by Arrowfly along with QSR and FSR magazines, is set to launch QSR AI Connect, a new initiative aimed at equipping restaurant executives with strategies to leverage artificial intelligence (AI). Recognizing that AI is fundamentally reshaping the restaurant landscape, this program intends to move beyond mere experimentation, offering practical frameworks for leaders to integrate AI into their operations. The initiative is developed in collaboration with NexChapter and emphasizes education, collaboration, and real-world application.
Danny Klein, VP editorial at Arrowfly’s Foodservice, Retail, and Hospitality group, stated, “Artificial intelligence has become one of the defining conversations in hospitality. Restaurant leaders are no longer asking whether AI matters. They're asking where to begin, what deserves investment, and how to lead their organizations through change.” QSR AI Connect aims to address these concerns, guiding executives as they navigate evolving AI technologies and create actionable plans for adoption.
The program will kick off with a complimentary webinar titled “Turning AI Strategy into Real Restaurant Results” and will feature its first executive workshop, “Leading Through the AI Era,” on September 8. This workshop distinguishes itself from typical conference presentations by prioritizing interactive, hands-on activities rather than passive learning. Attendees will work collaboratively to explore AI opportunities relevant to various operational aspects, including marketing, guest experience, operations, labor, and decision-making.
The structure of the workshop includes executive polling, industry case studies, and group exercises to assist leaders in prioritizing investments between immediate AI applications and long-term strategic initiatives. Participants will also evaluate their organization’s readiness for AI and formulate an Executive AI Roadmap focused on meaningful implementation.
As the restaurant sector increasingly identifies AI as a pivotal driver of growth and efficiency, how effectively these initial discussions and strategies translate into tangible improvements for organizations may significantly influence franchise operators’ approaches going forward.
