TOGO’S Sandwiches is launching an ambitious expansion plan across the Western United States, tapping into the Franchise FastLane's CarPool program to roll out its next-generation 3.0 concept. With the U.S. sandwich market expected to reach $72.43 billion by 2026, TOGO’S aims to leverage its established brand and innovative model to capture a larger market share. Currently, the brand operates over 170 locations and has built a loyal customer base since its founding in 1971 in San Jose, California.
The 3.0 model introduces a modernized restaurant experience featuring a pay-first operating platform that integrates third-party delivery services, as well as kiosk ordering to streamline customer service and reduce wait times. The updated design concept focuses on contemporary aesthetics and operational efficiency, with new menu options including a selection of hot sandwiches made possible by a combi oven. This innovative approach has already led to higher average unit volumes and an efficient training model to expedite staff onboarding.
John Dyer, Vice President of Franchise Development at TOGO’S, stated, “We have 55 years of product credibility, a next-generation operating model that’s proven itself, and now the right partner to scale it. This is the right moment to accelerate our expansion and unlock the next chapter of growth for the TOGO’S brand.” Tim Koch, President of Franchise FastLane, emphasized that TOGO’S possesses the necessary heritage and infrastructure for significant growth.
The partnership with Franchise FastLane will provide comprehensive franchise development support, assisting in attracting prospective franchisees and implementing strategic growth plans. The collaboration aims to utilize technology and proven processes to facilitate effective development strategies.
The move signals a proactive approach to expansion, suggesting that TOGO’S is positioned for robust growth in a thriving segment of the restaurant industry. Future observations may focus on how effectively TOGO’S can convert this expansion momentum into successful franchise locations throughout the West.
